A three-point shootout game inside Hersheypark in Hershey, PA called for pavement maintenance in a setting very different from a typical parking lot. ProSeal Asphalt Maintenance Inc. cleaned and sealcoated the paved game surface, then returned to complete the basketball key striping for the recreational area.
Cleaning and Sealcoating the Game Surface
Our crew began by cleaning the existing paved surface before moving into the sealcoating portion of the job. Two crew members handled this first phase of the project.
The setting made the work unusual. Instead of maintaining parking stalls, drive lanes, or a large paved lot, we were working within a compact basketball attraction centered around a hoop and shooting area.
After the surface was cleaned, we applied the sealcoat across the game area. This completed the pavement-maintenance portion of our scope before the basketball markings were added.
The project followed a clear progression built around the existing use of the space:
- Clean the pavement
- Sealcoat the playing surface
- Complete the markings needed for the basketball game
Returning to Stripe the Basketball Key
One crew member returned the following day to handle the striping portion of the work.
This layout was different from standard parking lot striping. There were no parking stalls, traffic arrows, or drive-lane markings to lay out. Instead, our striping work was tied directly to the recreational use of the surface.
We striped the basketball key within the existing three-point shootout setup. Against the dark sealcoated pavement, the finished white markings are clearly visible around the playing area beneath the hoop and backboard.
Keeping the striping as a separate stage completed the sequence of work on the paved surface: cleaning and sealcoating first, followed by the basketball-specific markings.
Pavement Maintenance for a Recreational Setting
For this project, familiar asphalt-maintenance services were applied to a specialty recreational surface rather than a conventional parking area.
The completed space remained an active three-point shootout setup, with the dark pavement and contrasting white court markings forming the playing surface beneath the existing basketball equipment. The finished work combined two parts of our service scope on one compact area: maintaining the asphalt surface and marking it for its specific use.
Projects like this can look very different from a parking lot or driveway, but the work still starts with understanding what the paved area is used for and completing the maintenance and striping that fit that application.
ProSeal Asphalt provides sealcoating and pavement line striping in the Hershey, PA area, including basketball court markings.
